Fo4 mods not downloading when i star game
This may have been the case before, but I wasnt completely aware of it. I am running the latest version of fallout, and modified all the files myself to make the game mod compadible as well as looking for other people experiencing the same issue.
Any ideas? This frustrating problem puts me on the verge of wiping my whole computer and starting again. Workshop mods cant install for some reason "operation could not be completed". Showing 1 - 6 of 6 comments.
Kisamefishman View Profile View Posts. I thought the nexus mods won't working for fallout, think they had disable them due to the CC I know the free mods through ingame works but I just seen topics in the forums about nexus not working for some others too.
So my problem at its simplest is the mods that change the hud or the settlement menu in some way don't work. Everything else works fine, but I play for the settlements.
If I can't mod them, then suddenly the game looses it's only redeeming characteristic. I've followed everything listed in the troubleshooting book, even went as far as to re-install everything that is associated with the game including nmm.
Before I did this, settlement mods that I had enabled before a certain time frame my trip overseas last year worked fine. After doing a clean install, they all stopped. It's almost like a file that controls the hud and the settlement menu has become read only then jumped ship or the game is stuck default mode.
Is there any file or piece of code in control of the settlement menu management? If so, just point me in the right direction and I will personally slice it to pieces. Please help. There are many things in this world that I can't live without, but I can't live without my settlements!
Thanks, I already have hud framework. Will install the other one as well when I get home tonight, see if that fixes it. Now Vortex isnt making a fuss about anything but when i boot up FO4 still none of my mods are loaded in. Any suggestions? Showing 1 - 15 of 21 comments. Bandy View Profile View Posts.
I don't use vortex so can't be of specific help, but as you say, you moved things around on drives a few times, so likely some file path issue you are overlooking. Check the mod manager ini files. Also backup your saves and try a new game from inside the vault door, just as a troubleshooting step.
I gave it permissions and tried it again. The message dissappeared but still no bodyslide files. So im guessing there is still an underlying game data path issues. Actually when vortex gave that you should have been able to simply tell it to fix the issue and it would have moved the mods over to the same drive as the game.
I ran into the same when I moved fallout 4 to my second drive was running out of room on C. I did have that happen, but the "fix" button was greyed out. Hope this helps. Your problem may be that it is installed in the Program Files x86 folder.
Windows sometimes blocks things from working correctly when they are installed there. I would suggest moving steam or at least the games out of the Program Files x86 folder. Here is a link to show an easier way of doing so than a reinstall. I booted up Fallout4 to see if my mods were working now, but still no Charon View Profile View Posts. The mod staging folder needs to be on the same drive as the fallout 4 installation. Neither Fallout 4 nor Vortex should ever be installed in the program files folder.
Make sure Vortex knows the correct Fallout 4 installation path after you moved around your installation and maybe deploy your mods again. Last edited by Charon ; 13 May, pm. Originally posted by Charon :. Last edited by DeathKnight ; 13 May, pm.
